Aquaphobia & Water Confidence Sessions in Auckland

Gentle, personalised support for adults and children who feel nervous, uncomfortable or afraid around water.

Build confidence, one step at a time

Fear of water, sometimes called aquaphobia, can affect people of all ages. Whether you are an adult wanting to feel more comfortable in a swimming pool or a parent looking for support for your child, sessions are tailored to your individual needs.

We work gradually and without pressure, respecting your comfort level and allowing confidence to develop at your own pace.

Why this work is close to my heart

My own mother is afraid of water, and I have had the opportunity to help her feel more comfortable in it. Seeing her take small steps towards greater confidence was incredibly meaningful to me and inspired me to support others facing similar fears.

I know that everyone experiences fear differently. My aim is to offer a calm, patient and supportive space where adults and children can build water confidence gradually, without pressure and at their own pace. Every small step matters.

What we can work on

  • Feeling comfortable around the pool environment
  • Building confidence entering and standing in water
  • Gentle breathing and relaxation techniques
  • Moving comfortably through the water
  • Developing trust, confidence and a sense of control

Enquire About Water Confidence Sessions

Water confidence and Watsu are different experiences

These sessions focus on gradually developing comfort and confidence in water. If you're looking for supported relaxation and gentle movement, explore my separate Watsu water therapy sessions.

Water confidence sessions are not swimming lessons or psychological treatment for a diagnosed phobia. Water safety and suitability will be discussed before sessions begin.
